On a beautiful night we were lucky enough to get a table outside. Wings were awesome and the recommendation of the waitstaff to test their sauce was spot on! When I am back in town I will add this place as a great place to grab a drink when the weather is nice. Inside looked cozy
A very nice 1800's tavern and restaurant. If you like taking a step back in time then this is the place. Located just off the square in historic Boalsburg.
This is now called the Boalsburg Tavern and it is a great spot to go with lovely outdoor seating.
We enjoyed just a light meal/dessert and drinks. They offer a nice variety of cocktails, draft beers, spritzers, and summer coolers. They have an extensive dessert menu baked by the owner's mother. The rhubarb-strawberry pie was tasty, not necessarily top-notch but worth trying.
The Thai salad is a great concept but not very well composed - too much raw cabbage and too little of the other veggies.
The hostess was also a bit odd. She seemed very off put at having to seat us. Very nice server, however, and great patio atmosphere. We will definitely return in the future as overall it was a positive experience. The menu offers a range of options to try and this is one of the few restaurants with pleasant outdoor seating.
Definitely much better than Kelly's down the road.
Everything tasted great but I left unsatisfied. The kitchen seems to be very staunch on changes to the meal. Understandable. Would definitely eat here again when next in town. I recommend the bison.
The food is very well done. Steaks are made to order, and not butchered in a way so that the portion is as small or as thin as can be possibly managed.
The serving sizes are plentiful, but not overwhelming. The combinations of food and side dishes are complementary, and the desserts are to die for.
