This place was a great find. Super friendly customer service and the pizza was phenomenal!
Food was delicious. Not just pizza. Jesse is fun and personable. Wish they had more tables but the space is limited. Overall this place is great! Worth the walk up the hill.
Day 1: Awesome - pepperoni, ricotta and hot honey pizza.
Day 2: Ordered pizzas for a conference.
8 Mile pizzas were a hit and enjoyed by all. A lot of comments on how good it was.
Regular, pepperoni & dill pickle/ garlic. Good stuff.
I grew up in Michigan, so I was curious how 8 Mile might stack up against my memories of Detroit style pizza from my youth. They nailed it. The pizza is fantastic, with amazingly crunchy outer crust, airy interior crust, and then all the delicious toppings (sauce on top) that make this such an delicious style of pizza. If you have never had Detroit style, you can rest assured that 8 mile is the place where you can have the real deal. Jesse, the manager, was fantastic and gave me the full rundown on the menu and how he sources ingredients. The picture does not do the interior of the crust justice, but you can see the crispy and the toppings. Yum. I will be back soon.
UPDATE 2: I fell in love with thee Fresh Tomato Garlic pizza. Nice slices of tomato with fresh basil... so good!
UPDATE: Pizza was even better the second time. Really good! Good amount of garlic flavor and generous amount of sauce on top. It gets 5 stars this time around! 😃
Good Detroit-style pizza. Caramelized cheese at the edges, seasoned sauce on top, and spongy crust. The crust was a bit more bread-like and airy than expected for a Detroit pizza, but still good. Also, the crust needs to have a little more garlic/butter flavor, but still pretty good. Worth at least a taste to see if you like it. 😁
Staff is super friendly and pizza made exactly on time. Easy access to this location by foot or car. The place was almost empty at 11-something AM, so hopefully they'll get more business over time. I tried just the personal cheese pizza, but I'll come back to try other toppings. It's a nice change from the typical pizza styles we're used to in State College.
