Kondu

Dreaming of a hearty portion of Sushi? I had no idea that there was a place that lets you grab a maki roll the size of a burrito and to just dip and munch on. Deliciously fresh prepared by friendly staff, I would definitely make this a go-to place when visiting State College.

Food ranges from okay to good. It's not great, and the people who work there have an impatient and unwelcoming attitude. I don't care too much about that, but it does make the place seem weird and uncomfortable.

Food wise, the teppenyaki has a solid flavor and it's quick. I wouldn't try any sushi from there, so I have no idea what it's like. The bowls are okay, but they get my order wrong a lot and also get annoyed when you customize ...which would be fine, except it's literally a bowl meant for you to order how you like it. That's the actual design. A bowl of meat and rice, then add what you want.

Overall, meh. It's fine for when you're in a hurry

My daughter and I tried this place for the first time while visiting Penn State. The food tasted great and it was convenient to our hotel. The next day when we were looking for somewhere to go to dinner, the first thing my daughter suggested was to go to Kondu again...which we did! Loved it!

They got everything about perfect for me. Even the most neglected aspect of sushi and rolls - temperature. The temp was perfect - not the least bit cold. Still all was fresh, tasty, and generous.
