Café de Thai

We are residents of Kennett for 40 years and have to say that this is the best food experience we have had in the borough. We ate at Cafe de Thai two nights ago and had such an amazing meal that we came back two nights later and to our delight we experienced an even better meal.
The won-ton soup is superb and had such depth of flavor that it ranks at the top of my list for all-time best (and I sample won-ton soup in every restaurant that serves it.) The steamed dumplings were delicate and flavorful and the sauce was quite tasty. Spring rolls were very good and served piping hot. Pineapple curry with duck was amazing, so flavorful with a hint of spice. Spicy Pad Thai with beef was exceptional and there was plenty to share.
Service was good, dishes brought out as they are freshly prepared which makes for a leisurely experience.
The only negative is that it can get a bit noisy since there is very little fabric in the restaurant to absorb the noise. But...the food is so good that this is an inconvenience with putting up with.
This is hands down our new favorite!

Restaurant was great! Our waitress was so nice and helpful with menu items! She gave us insight on how to eat the food traditionally. The food itself was fantastic! Good portion sizes, and everyone at my table of 5 was pleased with their food. Their food is made to order, so you can specify how spicy you want your dish. Highly recommend!!

I had the peanut curry with tofu and loved it! Great flavor good portion size and reasonable prices. Glad we got there early started getting real busy about the time we were leaving.

Glad Kennett Square finally has a Thai restaurant. Service is pretty good. I've had much better Thai food before but like that they add some locally inspired dishes to their menu. I'd still eat there again and recommend it to those in the area looking for something different. My Pad Thai was burnt and used thin noodles as opposed to the broad noodles most places us, and I didn't notice any peanuts. That being said, I'm rooting this place on. For locals, if you get a Thai server make sure you speak clearly and slowly enough for them. The staff is incredibly friendly and the dining area is clean and presentable. Food quality is 2 stars for me, service and dining area 4 stars.

Loved the food, service needs work, but it was a Friday night at 5:30pm (left at 7:30). It's still the first week of their opening- we'll be back in a month or so to update the rating. Parking is limited and restaurant service was super slow, but the food is excellent. Hopefully improvements will come in time because this is a great addition to the Kennett restaurant scene.

I ordered the pineapple curry with roasted duck; absolutely top notch, loved it.
