DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS AMAZING NEW RESTAURANT IN KSQ.

Looking for a quick lunch after Longwood Gardens, the universe brought us to Sweet Amelia’s.

The vegetable-forward menu caught my eye (as a vegetarian, I’ve come to accept that not every restaurant is veg-friendly. Luckily I really love hummus platters!), but the TASTE of each plate stopped me in tracks.

I only had the presence of mind to capture a photo of the bbq oyster mushroom gyro (THAT TZATZIKI THO 😍), but we had the pleasure of also tasting the togarashi potatoes, romanesco squash.

Possibly my favorite dish was the carrot skordalia - whose bright flavor surprised me so much I had to get more information. Chef Zack took time out of his kitchen prep to field our over-eager questions (and wax poetic about the local food scene).

I love when life takes you on delightful and unexpected culinary adventures! We are already planning a second trip.

My family and I were staying in Kennett Square, PA for the first time for work and we stumbled upon this place (not really— EVERY single person we spoke to said we absolutely had to come here) and decided to try it.

As we walked up to the restaurant, a man was leaving after his meal and told us not to be intimidated by the menu, as he didn’t recognize most of the ingredients listed. He said he was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be the best food he’s ever had. Needless to say, we had pretty high expectations given the hype.

We sat down and a man seated behind us explained that he ate there once a day minimum and that we were in for a treat as it’s the most unique food he’s ever experienced, hyping it further.

We ordered a bunch of different plates (the menu is seasonal) and I’m not even exaggerating when I say it was the most incredible meal I’ve ever had. Every flavor was spot on— I ate foods I thought I’d never even consider eating. It not only lived up to the hype, it exceeded the hype ten-fold.

Everyone was extremely friendly and our server was especially kind. The menu is very elevated, but the atmosphere and service are completely unpretentious. I’ll be dreaming of this restaurant until next year when we return.

Excellent dinner. Zucchini bread, stuffed sweets, clams, cavetelli, homemade ricotta on sourdough, chuck steak, and more. Great service, very friendly and helpful. Don’t miss the chocolate cake! This was truly wonderful.

What a delicious meal! The zucchini bread with noisette burre blanc was to die for. The lamb was so flavorful!

Soft open was awesome and everything was great. Service and food was all top notch. Will definitely be returning to check out the menu as it changes month to month. BYOB when we went but sounded like they have some other plans in the works for the future, which will be nice as well.
