One of my preferred spots for tasty Quality Meals. Fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. Next time I'll be back with my friends. The prices are fair for the quality of food. This place has many great reviews for a reason.
Great food, great view (sit outside if it is a nice day). Clams were delicious then had the honey lime shrip and finished off with the bread pudding. Cannot wait to go back!
The service and the food were good. They had a nice wine list and some unique cocktails. The off street parking was nice as well. The only concern was that two members of the kitchen staff were hanging out by the hallway to the restroom so I had to endure sexual remarks about my body as I walked to and from the restroom. This is not what I would expect from a place that refers to themselves as fine dining. I had booked through open table and submitted a review there, but it has not been published. I believe that women should be aware of this event as I think it is incredibly unreasonable for this to occur.
Anyone trying to take a good x sample of Harrisburg food offerings def has to hit Char's. We had an early Saturday dinner, sat inside with river view. If weather were cooler outside is beautiful. Walk around inside, look at the pictures .. its a treasure of a building. The food was .. pretty good, no real complaints. My cousins dad and friend is a solid meat n potatoes guy and he was a little disappointed in the portions. But, it was all good and we enjoyed great service. It's on high end price wise. Try it.
Amazing! The food was spectacular and the service top notch. We loved the bread we were served as we were seated so the waiter brought us a box of the bread to take home with us at the end of the night. She had the lime and risotto shrimp, I had scallops. Dessert was a warm chocolate souffle... Heaven on a plate. The only down side was the noise level. The manager moved us to a quieter table in a corner that has sound dampening panels around it. So much better. The next time we go we will probably ask to be seated in the library. Highly recommend visiting the mansion.
