Two and one half hour drive from Pittsburgh area to Erie, PA. Our usual first stop? George's of course. Fabulous Crab Bisque. Great sandwiches, pleasant atmosphere, VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE. An Erie must stop. Check hours, they are closed in the eve of and Mondays.
Family friendly diner with great, home-made dinner specials. Service is very slow. Food often overcooked or cold upon arrival.
We went to George's for breakfast and had one of the best meals! The Cajun Eggs were very good, the mashed potatoes were amazing and my husband loved the corned beef hash. I highly recommend George's and always get mashed potatoes.
It had been years since I visited George's Restaurant, but on Father's Day morning we found ourselves shut out at one of our favorite breakfast places. We stopped at George's, since it had been a while. My wife got the sausage gravy and biscuits. We're pretty sure the biscuits were scratch made in the kitchen. If not they were the best store bought biscuits we've ever had. I had the country fried pork chop with sausage gravy. The chop was tender and the breading was light and crispy. We may have found our new favorite breakfast place.
