This is the best place for comfort food. Serving sizes are big enough to take home for another meal, the food is excellent and home made. The Apple sauce is that chunky yummy kind, like eating pie filling but not so sweet. Green beans are cooked with bacon like Mom used to. If you're a history buff this place is really for you as George Washington's statue is beside the building. It's the only statue of him in a British military uniform in the US.
We live in NY State and drive an hour to get there. We always enjoy our meal. Very satisfying portions, fresh food, and exception service. Absolutely one of our favorite place for a fantastic dining experience. :)
Friendly service with so many smiles. We went in a large group on a Saturday evening. Everything was perfect. ! Saying portions are huge is and understatement at the least. Golden fried chicken was amazing! Meatloaf was so hearty, my son said the french dip was the best he ever had, prime rib was like butter. The french fries were crispy and so full of flavor. Spaghetti is enough for a few stomachs not to mention the garlic toast is huge too! Good luck thinking of dessert..maybe to go. But so worth all of it. Check it out
Really good! Some of the best lasagna I've ever had! My wife loves the chicken and biscuits. Don't think we've ever gone on a different day than Wednesday. That's when the aforementioned dishes on special.
Our first visit and definitely not our last. This old hotel stands tall and is easily visible from the road. It is a testament of the "good old times." You are amazed from the moment you step inside. The interior is impressive, decorated to impress. The hostess as well as the servers were super friendly and made us feel at home right away. Thanks Cherry for all the great info you provided about your town and nearby attractions. We were already impressed before the food arrived - we were over the moon when we saw the menu and could sample the our order. The bean and ham soup was almost a meal on its own. My husband isn't shy to eat, but he had to take half his burger home. The fries were hot, crispy and quite tasty. Prices are quite reasonable. Spent $ 27 (tip and tax included) for 2 lunches and coffee. The front steps are a bit steep, but there is a wheelchair ramp on the side of the building. There is a large, free parking behind the building. There are nice, clean bathrooms. The old building features are well maintained and there are lots of decorations to look at. Take your time and enjoy.
