This is a straight-up historic diner. It's a holy place. I put stuff in my hole, boom, everything worked out great.
Went for breakfast... Been a few years prices were ok food was ok service was ok
Shakes and burgers are super. Makes Mcds taste like dogfood.
It's so 1950s that it's been in business since 1910. (The menu cover says Authentic 1950s restaurant, Since 1910). It is located under the bridge where Google maps can't find it. I am pretty sure it is a time warp. The service was great and so was the food. It is cash only but there is an ATM is the backroom. Side note: Netflix filmed something there this past week. There was still filming equipment around the town. I can't remember what the waitress said was filmed there.
This place is a staple of Brownsville. My mom used to take me here after I had dentist or doctor appointments when I was a kid. Years later, my Hubbee and I stopped in for lunch and to my surprise, not much had changed. Plus, the food was still as good as I remembered! Even the booths that so many had carved sweethearts initials, names or both were still there! Great old-time atmosphere. Stop by - you won't regret it!!
