Domino's Pizza

Everyone always says that it’s just one last job, “The last heist” they call it. One last score and then we kick our feet up and relax. Every crew I’ve run with says that. Nobody ever means it; it’s all just part of the ritual. That was, at least, until last October. That was when I really did my last job.

I was tired the night we met up. I was already looking forward to being back home in my bed. I never would have thought that I’d never know the sweet grasp of sleep again. The goal was to grab a small stash of jewelry that was rumored to belong to one of the older families in the area. We had their house scoped out and the three of us had everything planned out.

I have to admit, it was not a very nice place, pretty average. The house wasn’t very big and wasn’t fancy by any measure. It was definitely old, but not old enough to be strange. The property was well-maintained, but not like there was big money living there. There were no pets and no alarm system. All we had to do was be quiet and quick with the break-in.

The window gave easily enough and we were just skating from there. We searched the house and found a jewelry box, but since it was small enough to carry we just let left with it. 3 hours of highway driving later we stopped at a cheap motel and ordered a couple pizzas from the local dominos. Later that evening we cracked it open and got to start inspecting the results, which were way better than expected.

There was one thing that really caught my eye though, and that was a necklace with a small symbol made from carved amber hanging from it. It was beautiful, and looked much older than the silver chain it was on. The guys could tell I really wanted it, so I ended up having to give up a little bit of my portion to keep it. That’s the way negotiations always go, and I never was good at poker.

That was the last time I felt the need to sleep. It’s been 16 months since then and I’m still so very tired. I’m not sure anyone’s ever felt this exhausted. I feel compelled, constantly, to be moving. I’ve tried throwing away the necklace, but then I find myself going and finding it again. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into a pawn shop with the intention of selling, but never being able to give it up. I sold everything else, no problem, but I just can’t let go of this stupid necklace. I’ve started walking at night. I feel compelled to be moving…. Nothing tastes good to me anymore and I can’t stand the smell of food, but sometimes I find myself daydreaming about the night of my last job, and the delicious pizza I ate afterwards. If I could sleep I’m pretty sure I would dream about it.

The pizza and staff at this store is top notch.. Food is super tasty and made very fast.... great job Dominos

Staff is always pleasant and helpful. I order here regularly and have never had a mistake. There parking lot is small and my truck has been hit twice, by the same woman, but i will still order from this place
