My wife and I had a wonderful stay here for our honeymoon. The service and hospitality were very good. The food at the restaurant was also very high quality, including the delicious breakfast sandwiches delivered to our room. The building itself is elegantly rustic and charming. I look forward to staying here again soon.

Love coming here. Customer service oriented staff. Food is out of this world. Excellent wine selection.

This place is so special, it caters for people who want a relaxing time. The rooms are fantastic, with a balcony to sit out on & enjoy the forest around you. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff who respect old family values and hospitality. The food in the restaurant is excellent, using locally sourced ingredients and cooked by an outstanding chef. We can't wait to be in the area again so we can book in for another night's stay.

First, the lodging. We stayed in a cabin. It was very nice. Very clean. We were very happy with it. But, there's a but. A few.

The biggest thing was it was cold in the mornings. The cabin's heat was disabled. We spoke to the front desk Saturday and they said they would not turn it on. For the price, we better be comfortable. I don't want to have to get out of bed and bundle up to drink my coffee. Very strange. Not acceptable.

A small thing, upon check-in, we were told not to take the robes or we'll be charged $85 each. Fine, we don't steal robes. However, there were no robes, which we discovered late Friday on our way to the hot tub. Fixed that Saturday. No big deal but coupled with the strange warning to not steal them, it was annoying.

Another not so small thing, the advertisement specifically calls out "luxury linens". The fitted sheet didn't stay on the mattress. My guess is the sheets were just quite old. Again, no big deal but for this very high price and for calling it out specifically, not acceptable.

Finally, bring shampoo. There is none in the cabins. Probably another oversight by the maids.

One more tip, there's matches and a couple fire starters hidden up under the cover over the wood pile outside.

The restaurant... we ate dinner there Saturday night. I wish I could rate the restaurant separately. I'd give it a 4 but only because the service was so outstanding.

My wife and I both had the venison back-strap. The meat was super tender and good but it seemed to be boiled with no seasoning. The vegetables seemed to have spent many hours under a heat lamp. The potato was bizarrely small but good. The dessert was very good. It would have been an okay meal for half the price.

But the service was amazing. Our waitress was attentive, fast, and fun. She was great.

Overall, the experience doesn't match the price.

Very nice place to stay and relax. Breakfast first morning was a disappointment. Very late because cook did not show up. Given to us in a bag. Not very warm or good tasting. Next morning breakfast was served in the dining room. Food was superb and served by a very attentive waitress. All in all we enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.
