Pizza by Pappas

I love Pappas. This one of the places I would always go as a child, and I'm glad to see that the quality there has not declined over time. There's nothing better than splitting a Tuna Grinder and Pizza.

Their subs and grinders make for a very good lunch. That being said, the pizza here is pizza-in-a-cup. ~~As in, you can pour the grease off of it and into a cup. Definitely pretreat with antacid before consuming.

So I had an appointment in the building next door and decided to stop by after for lunch. The staff were very friendly and made for good conversation here. When you order you're given a number and you're called up when it's ready (like a fast food joint). The pizza was pretty flavorful; the crust was golden and crispy even underneath and the sauce had a nice smoothness to it. The only negative I would really have to say is that there's a lot of oil/grease on the pizza itself from the way it's made (which honestly a few dabs with a napkin could take care of). Overall, I really liked this place and plan on stopping in again next week.

We originally went to a pizza shop that we found on line. We stepped one foot in the establishment and walked back out. The place was desolate and dingy. We rode around and happened upon Pizza by Pappas. So glad we did. The dining room was clean. There were diners in the restaurant. There were people coming in to pick up orders. The young woman at the cash register was informative and kind. We had both pizza and subs/sandwich. Both were delicious. Excellent flavors. The shop is run well. We wished we had more after we had eaten what we ordered. Would return here to work our way through the menu. Great local neigh borhood pizzeria.

Always love Pappas, a wonderful place to eat. Best turkey grinder in the region. Pizza is unique and very tasty. Everyone who works there is so friendly and nice. They do special fundraising for autism and other health things etc. Scrupulously clean as well. And kids will love the overhead train and the historic photos of Scranton on the walls
