    Great food. Very fresh. The batter fried mushrooms and Parmigiana shrimp. Yum!!!

    I ate here recently and was absolutely shocked to read some of these reviews. I had a wonderful dining experience. The food was awesome, unlike any other restaurants around. All of my food seemed to be homemade and was excellent! The people were awesome, it felt like they were welcoming me to their home. They were all so accommodating, offering good intelligent conversation. I really felt at home here. This is a place I could see myself coming to for years to come. After reading some of the comments, I'm shocked. I feel as if I got a totally different experience. Mark my words come this time next year this restaurant WILL be the IT spot in New Castle. If you've had a negative experience in the past I urge you to go back and then give another review. I bet it will be quite different from your first!

    This is a long review and I apologize for that but as a chef and restauranteur I am very critical in the way that I rate restaurants. I understand the struggle involved in opening a new restaurant and as such I was willing to give Ferdinando’s several attempts before giving an honest and critical review. The reason behind this is, every new business will struggle and have short comings for up to a year after opening. There is no such thing as a perfect restaurant, even those that have been in business for years will make mistakes and a negative review will stick with a business forever so I always give an establishment multiple chances before reviewing.

    After reading through the reviews posted I can see that many if not all of the negative reviewers did not give Ferdinando’s the same courtesy. Some of the reviews seem to be from disgruntled employees or their family members and have little to do with the quality of the restaurant itself.
    Down to the review, I grade restaurants on a scale based on service, atmosphere, food quality, taste and presentation. I evaluate and grade each category over the course of 3-5 visits spread out over several months and average the scores to arrive at my final review score. Below are the individual scores for each visit which are averaged to a 4 star rating.

    Ferdinando’s has recently (mid June) partnered with Executive Chef Bill Wood and it is clear that this partnership has made a huge impact on the restaurant. If you’ve heard bad things or had a negative experience I ask you to give this establishment another chance and if that doesn’t work out give them one or two more.
