Delicious Syrian / middle eastern cuisine served in a small nice cafe in east Allentown area. I highly recommend going with 2 to 3 friends and sharing plates annd platters to get a thorough experience of the savoury selection of different foods. I went with 2 friends and we shared a SHANKLISH ( 5 bucks ) , a seasoned cheese appetitizer , a SPINACH PIE( 5 bucks ) , which came in two big pieces ,a CHEESE PIE ( 5 bucks ) which was 2 large pitas topped AND stuffed with various cheeses , a bowl of BABA GHANOUJ( 4 bucks ) , an eggplant based dip with olive oil and mint sprigs , STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES ( 2 bucks ) which was 8 delicious grape leaves, and a CHICKEN SHAWARMA PLATTER ( 9 bucks ) which featured a huge heap of seasoned chicken and frenchfries on a large pita with a small plate of tomatoes, pickles , hot peppers, and mint. We also split a pot of ARABIC COFFEE ( 5 bucks ) which was dark, strong, and each gave us about 3 little cups worth. All together the meal was 38 bucks for 3 people. We were all stuffed and satisfied and had enough to take home for later. My only critique was that the chicken was a little bland and fatty. Ive had better seasonedm chicken elsewhere but for the price and the amount i should just shut my big fat mouth up . If you are adventurous for new flavor ,bored of the same old food , or love Syrian food then you should make Al- Tanour a MUST GO PLACE TO CHECK OUT. Im glad i did !
Every thing was really good
Chicken Shawarma is very good, staff is also very friendly. Nice place to grab a bite in East Allentown.
Fast service, tasty food. Cash only right now. Got the sampler and a beef gyro. Everything was well cooked and tasty. Hummus was delicious.
