Was in town for business and had the opportunity to join my brother and his SO for dinner. They suggested this place...and I'm glad they did. I love seafood so I always take the chance to enjoy it when I can. As I understood it, Youell's has been around a long time. This location is sitting in the middle of suburban neighborhood, like it has been there forever. After sorting out a bottle of wine we perused the menu, deep with classic seafood offerings. I opted for some raw oysters while my companions chose scallops and crab cakes. Everything was deliciously prepared and presented. The dining room atmosphere was cozy and we had no problems making dinner conversation. I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area. Recommended.
I love going here. The food and service are always great. All of the seafood dishes are cooked perfectly and there's great tasting options for those who might not like seafood as well. If you have any food allergies, they are very accommodating in making substitutions.
They had good food. Service was also good. I guess the prices just didn't match any of it. Nothing comes with the meal, no soup or salad. I small roll placed on each person's plate. No choices of vegetable. You get mixed vegetables and that's it. If you do buy something extra it's very expensive. Most meals, I thought were around 40.00 or more. I believe a soup or salad was 8-12.00. Sorry but the food just didn't match the price. The atmosphere wasn't even anything worth while. Just not my thing.
This is an amazing place. When there for the first time for my Birthday and was highly Impressed. Great food, Great background music, Great and helpful staff. I can't wait to get back to there soon!
I am an oyster lover. Seattle, New Orleans, Chesapeake. I know what I'm looking for in a great oyster house. Youell's has the greatness. It is way at the top of the hills in Allentown, but well worth the trip. Our waiter Josh was charming, knowledgeable and as peaceful as a mountain-top guru. Clams, mussels, divine oysters, and three Lobster tails. Cost a few clams, but worth the price of a couple movie tickets. Make the trip up the hill!
