If your like me and have passed by this place wondering what’s up turn around immediately and head back there and meet Velma and let her cook some love for you. I could live here. Not sure if the people of Mount Pocono know what they have so close to them. Only thing I hate about this place is it’s in Pennsylvania and I live in Connecticut. Vilma grows all her own organic vegetables year round either herself or thru farm shares and gets all her proteins free range / grass fed / humanely raised working out of a tiny little kitchen in the back of this incredible health food store. Wow wow wow and nom nom nom. So you think you’ve had Jerk Chicken before?? Trust me you have not. Drooling just thinking about the leftovers I have for lunch today. Drooling. Can’t wait until work sends me back to this area as there is no way on earth I’m going anywhere else. Word to the wise thou this isn’t a quick take out place. If you’ve got thirty minutes for lunch order ahead although you will miss out on talking to Velma and that’s something you honestly don’t want to do. Then you won’t get samples of these insanely delicious candied coconut strips of goodness or homemade organic apple cider vinegar that tastes like champagne. Everything is real. Nothing is from a box. Only thing from a can is olive oil. All the herbs are raised and ground and dried by her. Only employee there too. Had such an incredible conversation with her about food and life while she cooked me this meal words can’t do justice to. Definitely definitely definitely don’t pass this gem by. So so jealous of the residents of this area.

finally visited after passing it for so many years and wondering what the deal was(how ironic) It was everything and more than I thought it would be, but the best part of the experience was talking with Velma. She was so generous and knowledgeable, on top of the fact there was such a variety to choose from in the store. I can’t wait to go back(:

We had awesome jerk chicken, vegetables, and kale and spinach patties. It was great. Very fun, not your usual restaurant experience! I felt like we were at a family member’s home, only with better food.

I'd been meaning to stop for years as I was curious as to what was inside. Wonders indeed! Velma, yes we are on a first name basis after just one visit, is a treasure all by herself. She is an amazing cook and knows about health foods from different countries and has such a variety to chose from. I knew I was going to come out with a freshly made smoothie but after she started telling me about the jerk chicken (not our politicians) that she had cooked late the night before I just had to sample it. Then came the chicken curry with fresh veggies stir fried with onion and garlic. Wow what a feast! I had her make more for me to take home and more smoothie to go too. If you are into health foods, then you need to check out this store. It's only a block off of rt 611 on rt 940
