Big is in the name. And big is in the flavor. Chicken sandwich I had was the Nashville hot which was fantastic it was juicy and hot crispy and just the right amount of spice. The pickles tasted like something I would have made it home very fresh and crisp. The french fries were crisp and hot perfectly seasoned. We had the seasonal iced tea which I couldn't tell if it was lemon or Peach but it was delicious and I had like four or five cups of it. I really enjoyed eating here and I would recommend it again. Definitely get the big chicken sauce and dip your French fries and chicken and basically everything you would eat in that sauce
With a name like Big Chicken and backed by a big guy like Shaq would've expected some bigger portions, like a whole chicken breast on a bun.
All the sandwiches sounded so heavy I went with the Grilled chicken sandwich which was 10.50, for 0.50 more you can get the original chicken sandwich combo. The sandwich was about the size of a McChicken with lettuce and tomatoe added.
I didn't get a drink, (4.99) but kinda wish I did as they had some appetizing sweet tea and cream soda available.
I was a little disappointed as everything Shaq touches is pretty much gold. Might go back to try the Dirty Fries
Let me start by saying I have no idea what the 1 and 2 star reviews are talking about. Maybe they went right when they opened and were crazy busy or something but those people don’t have tastebuds 😆
Got a chance to stop in and check out Shaq’s Big Chicken at the Crossings in Tannersville. I’m not big on chains but I love that Shaq does a lot for charity and a lot for children in need. It doesn’t hurt that this chicken is very good. A little more expensive than a chic fil A or Popeyes but imo worth it. Nice seasoning and cook on the chicken, quite juicy in the center and crisp on the outside. The Mac and cheese alone was very tasty but I’d order it next time without the crushed cheese it’s topping or whatever that was haha, it doesn’t need it.
I got a chicken sandwich meal and my son got a 5 piece tenders meal (they were large tenders too) with a side and a drink each and it came to around $33. I’m not even mad about it. Big Chicken - Didn’t Suck!
The atmosphere and service were awesome! The food tasted good for a fast food chicken establishment. Definitely better the Guy Fieri's. I wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese side unless you like the store bought flavor. The Shaq Attack with the jalapeno slaw was devine. Definitely would come back for that and the fries. Little pricey for the amount, but it's worth it.
In the culinary odyssey at Big Chicken, the flavors pirouetted gracefully on my palate, earning a resounding 7 or 8 out of 10 in the realm of epicurean indulgence. However, the portions, akin to a modest serenade, garnered a less enthusiastic 4 or 5 out of 10, leaving me yearning for a more substantial culinary crescendo.
During this poultry opera, a serendipitous encounter with neighboring diners revealed the sagacity of opting for the grandiose "bigger" size—a harmonious choice when embarking on communal feasts. The nuggets, potentially a dalliance with the darker side of poultry, may not have aligned with my predilection for white meat. Nevertheless, the promise of returning for a sonnet of chicken strips lingers in the air, a future aria in the gastronomic repertoire.
The sauces, those unsung heroes of the culinary ballad, stole the limelight with the nuanced Carolina mustard, the signature Big Chicken sauce, and the sweet and smoky Memphis number. Yet, the managerial minuet, with inquiries into my gustatory delight, struck a somewhat cringeworthy note—a minor dissonance in an otherwise harmonious experience.
Wistful desires lingered for a more crisped crescendo in the chicken department, while the Mac and Cheese, a cheesy sonnet topped with a cascade of dairy decadence, inspired a solemn vow to replicate this gastronomic masterpiece in my own culinary escapades.
Libations, a refreshing ode to quench the thirst, saw the strawberry lemonade stealing the spotlight—a sweet and tart interlude in this culinary opus. Safety, a key player in the gastronomic narrative, manifested in a unique waiver ritual—an intriguing note in the symphony of security.
Yet, the unexpected interjection of a tween chorus, proclaiming gratitude to Shaq after each morsel, added an unexpected cadence to the dining sonata. While some may revel in this culinary concerto, the siren call for better value, whether in amplified portions or diminished costs, echoes in my gastronomic musings. The final verdict, a discerning 6.5 out of 10, reflects the lingering notes of flavor and the crescendo of potential improvements in this ongoing culinary journey.
