Nice and interesting selection of beer that changes regularly. We had tacos and a burger, both of which were good. Previously, I tried the 'build your own nachos,' and they were excellent.
I really like the beer, I had a double IPA and an Irish Stout. The $5 Nachos were great, The tacos I ordered as a main course were only OK the Pork was good but otherwise not to flavorful. I do not like corn tortillas and I should have asked for them of flour, that was my fault my guess is that I would have like them a lot more on Flour. What stops me from giving the place 4 or 5 stars was the service, which in a word was abysmal. The servers were pleasant enough, but it seemed as though they forgot we were there. 10 mins to pour a beer in a place that was mostly empty.? I will certainly go back the nachos and beer make it worth the trip. But it is to bad that a place that seems to do the hard stuff well should fall down on timeliness of service because as I said their servers were pleasant and helpful when they showed up. Oh a pet peeve, why not put salt and pepper on the table? I mean it can't be that your chef thinks everything is season to perfection and would be insulted if a patron put salt or pepper on his/her creation. can it?
Great beer. Tortillas should be made to order. Tacos were a bit dry. Pork should be finished on a flat top with moisture. Maybe Pico/ sauce on the side?
I'll be back to try more menu. Again. Great beer.
Super excited to have another local spot in Glenside! The beer was great and the service was great. The food was disappointing. Was expecting pub style, but instead the menu offered mostly Mexican food. I ordered a burrito bowl, which I normally love, but it came with wild rice instead of a white, spanish, or cilantro type rice.
Would return for drinks and nachos, but not necessary dinner.
I was asked by the owner how could they make it better. taco should be seasoned better. they were bland. Also, the menu does not make any sense. it is great that we can put mac and cheese on our nachos, but, I'm expecting a little more traditional foods for an Ale house. and, if you are focusing on Mexican style food, make it good. season it. Finally, deem the lights a bit- it feels like a dining hall instead of a bar/ tavern/ ale house. Would LOVE to check it out again with friend. Good luck! it's wonderful to see new local businesses.
