This is the spot in Lansdale for the best Dumplings. They specialize in having unique authentic dumplings but they also do the typical chinese food take out menu.
Okay first of all, how can a resturant look this way. Literally were the only sit in customers. Also we had to still wait 30 minutes for our appetizers to come out. Ther service is pretty whatever. I know it's a mom and pop shop but the owners dont really care anymore I think because the flavors in the food weren't really 100% there.
The pork and leek dumplings were mediocre at best. The skin of the dumplings were too thick and had a slimy wet texture. They had some pork flavor but it didnt really taste that fresh.
The pork buns were even worse. It was such a thick bun filled with a tiny meatball with almost 0 sauce. Really lacking in flavor and the meat doesnt fall apart, it just sticks together in one piece.
The hot pepper beef was redeeming along with the Singapore mei fun. Mei fun was hot and filled with goodies. And the pepper beef had a nice pepper flavor although I thought it may have been slightly over seasoned. A little salty.
I guess if your looking for takeout it may be alright but never come here for a date or expect amazing dumplings. Other entrees may be better.
Good food good, service coming back every time.
Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Lansdales train you can find Chongs Dumpling House serving the usual Chinese fare. I went here on once on a date. I found the music to be too high energy and poppy for dinner. In regards to the food, no complaints. The decor sticks out in my mind as drab with no cohesion. Service was adequate, it seemed to be family operated. Overall, it will hit the spot if your craving Chinese food.
Love this place. Zero ambiance and great food! Pan fried dumps and buns are awesome. Also recommend shredded pork with chile and lemongrass, my favorite dish.
