This has been a continual great place to go to. It started out a few months ago and now the last order was 11 guys for lunch. Their brisket strips are amazing, fork tender, dropping in juices. Their baked beans are stuck to your fork upside down sticky. Corn bread is soft, not grainy or flakey. Do your self a favor and make sure you save room for dessert. Peach cobbler better than your grandma's.
Very good BBQ. They have big smokers outside in the back ???? It was a special treat as I'm from New England and we don't have many BBQ restaurants. One disappointment were the sauces. They were quite watery; I like a thicker sauce that sticks to the meat. The place is small and it was packed at lunch. It was up there with BBQ if had in the South and in Texas.
Great food reasonable prices. Smells fantastic! I'm glad I don't live close to Jesse's, I would be there allot and weigh 300 pounds!
Consistently excellent BBQ especially the brisket. Get there early if it is cold out and you want a table. In warm weather the picnic tables outside (some under a roof) are available. I reserved the last star for a small BBQ joint 40 miles NE of Mobile, AL but Jesse is real close to getting it.
Rate the food "good" - and "good value" for the pricing. Competent, clean, and efficient counter service. The raving 5 and 4 star reviews are waaay over the top in my opinion. But one can see why it has its fans. Pleasant enough treat - with realistic expectations. I see it working well for quickly satisfying a craving on the run. Definitely worthwhile checking out.
