Excellent food and atmosphere! We were a fairly large group on a very busy day, but the staff was extremely accommodating. The drink selection was good, and the food was fantastic. This is a great place to sample crab, tuna, or catfish paired with a very interesting atmosphere. Easy access to Eastern State Penitentiary, and about 15 minutes on foot to the Art Museum and Fairmount Park.
We went here after I proposed to my now fiancee. They were super kind and gave us free champagne, cookies, muffins when they found out. The staff was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was also our first time trying poutine and we loved it. It's directly across the street from Eastern State Penitentiary, and is where we're going every time we go there from now on. As the name implies, the building looks like an old fire station on the outside, and is beautiful hardwood on the inside.
Good atmosphere but lacked variety of vegetarian options. Went with the risotto and felt it was very under-seasoned. However we tried it again for a drink on a beautiful day and their outdoor patio was great. They also have great local draft options for a good price. Have a good taste in music too.
Great local spot to grab a cold beer/cocktail or some really good food. Stopped by here recently on a trip to Philly after visiting Eastern State Penitentiary. Good customer service and a welcoming staff. Definitely will be coming back here again on my next visit.
We had an excellent experience here and would recommend this for anyone looking for an upscale dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. We got our food at a nice pace. And everything was delicious. The only real complaint was that the butter was a little hard.
