First time I went here (food truck on Whitaker) I was unimpressed. Decided to try again based on other reviews, and wow! They must have just been having a bad day that first time. Friendly guy working the truck. Great food, big portion, and best of all, it's a pretty close match to being on the island. My family has been to Jamaica a few times, and I always miss the jerk chicken and beef patties. I can say this jerk chicken is worth eating for sure!

I've eaten a lot Jamaican food from other cities like Chicago and Baltimore and Jamaica D's wins every time. You get a lot for your money. A medium platter (1 meat and 3 sides) will last at least 2 days easy. The price is very reasonable and the food is very good. 8 times out of 10 there is a line to the door. The music is good as well and very loud especially on the weekends!

The food is always delicious, plentiful and filling for the price. The lines can be long at times. Been a customer for roughly 13 years. I give 2 thumbs up

I've been to this restaurant at least four or five times while living in Philly. I always come here for the oxtails, stewed beef, fried fish or jerk chicken platter. Plus their FRIED barbecue chicken is good too!!! Their meat is very good!!! I have eaten oxtails and stewed beef from other places. By far, they have the best oxtails and stewed beef I have ever eaten. However, I must admit that I am not a fan of their macaroni and cheese at all.The candied yams are pretty good but they are not the candied yams I grew up on. They have a good flavor but I'm not use to eating mashed candied yams. The stewed cabbage, rice & beans and collard greens are very good. However, everyone's style of cooking is different but overall, the restaurant is clean and attractive, customer service and the food is pretty good and they give you HUGE portions and the prices are good.

This place is the best place for Jamaican food. You have to order at the shop, be prepared to wait a bit during busy times. It's worth the wait. Cannot recommend highly enough.
