A great hidden gem in the heart of Center City. Cherry St. Tavern has a great selection of seasonal, local beers along with the standard big brews. When it comes to the food, you need to order one thing: a hot roast beef sandwich. Cheese is your choice, but, whatever you get, you'll love it. The long hots are supremely hot and the horseradish has that kick that you'll love. Cheese plate? Ritz crackers and pepperoni with Cabot cheddar. The chili? Homemade, decent, but nothing compares to the hot roast beef. Head here to watch a game and you won't be disappointed, especially when you're washing down your sandwich with a good beer.

Great little bar in the heart of Center City. The thing I love about this place is that it doesn't have the glitz and glamor of most of the bars downtown. Its a nice place to sit down, have a beer, and start a conversation with a stranger next to you. I didn't eat here but I am told they make a great roast beef sandwich.

Found this place wanderingwand had a great experience. The beer was good, Uncle Bob and the lady behind the bar were friendly. The roast beef sandwich was delicious. I don't see any the negatives others have posted about
