Best sushi in Philadelphia. Excellent service and inventive, creative and delicious sushi. Make sure you order some hand rolls too. Very hard to get a reservation for the tasting menu, but it’s well worth the wait and cost!

I am always surprised by how good the food is here. Interesting drinks list, and excellent sashimi and chicken skewers of various parts. If you’ve never tried chicken liver and heart, try them here. Miso soup is rich and smoky. Pork jowl was so tender, sweet, and rich in flavor. Mackerel was cooked and seasoned just right.

Some things to note: it’s very dark and loud inside. Also, the AC is a bit aggressive if you’re sitting by a wall. Bring a jacket because it’ll always be colder inside.

Royal Sushi was fantastic! The Japanese eggplant is a must. There isn't a large selection of roles but the roles they have are beautifully made. The fish is very fresh and I suggest the Sashimi selection as you get the real taste of the fish. They have the very largest selection of Saki and Japanese and other liquor. The bar is beautiful. I would go back for sure.

I enjoyed the dark room and playlist here. The sushi took a while to come out which is not what I’m used to. The pieces were pretty big and delicious, a little on the salty side though. Nonetheless, I left here satisfied.
