This restaurant has been a favorite for years for the best falafel in the city. The kebabs are also excellent, especially the lamb which are very tasty and tender. We also love the French fries with the grilled onions and peppers, as well as the hummus, which is creamy and delicious. A great very casual but small restaurant for indoor eating. Homey and fun.
Customer Service Was very bad. Very small portions of the food. Probably will never be back
Update: I came back 1 year later and everything has changed the food got much better as well as the customer service. One of the best places in Philly that has been open for 30+ Years
I've been coming here for years (possibly decades) for excellent middle eastern fare. My go-to is the chicken kebab platter, which comes with creamy hummus and a fresh salad with a nice tahini dressing.
I also frequently get the side of kibbi, and the side of spinach pie re-heats nicely in the oven for lunch the next day. Throw in some excellent lentil soup and you're set.
I've never been disappointed here. Delicious, fresh, fairly priced. Give it a try!
Absolutely amazing food. The best Middle Eastern food I have ever had, even after 25 years! I live out of state now, but I used to go here regularly when I hung out on South Street in the mid to late 90's. It was fantastic then and when I got to visit last month, the Chicken Shawarma and hummus are truly the best I have ever tasted. Go! Eat! You'll be happy you did.
I just drove an hour to have my birthday meal here. This has been my favorite restaurant for the past 20 years. I love the chicken kebab and the french fries are cooked with onions and peppers. Supreme!
I've been eating here for over 4 decades. Great food in an informal, affordable setting. BYOB. Sit outside al fresco on a pleasant seasonal evening. This is an addendum to my earlier review. I'm adding another half star to this blissful dining experience!!!
