Carmen's Famous Cheesesteaks

I was in Philadelphia today getting a biopsy at Thomas Jefferson Hospital after I left the hospital I walked three blocks to this amazing place. Definitely the best decision I made one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. I cannot wait to go back.

A must-visit on 12th street in Reading Terminal Market. Be prepared though to be in a line, but it moves rather quickly with the hardworking employees. The playing cards they give to customers waiting for their order is an interesting touch. In terms of neatness, the Reading Terminal Market in general may need to clean up, especially the ceiling area.

It's fine. It gets a rep for being the place to get a cheese steak in Philly and it wasn't bad. I got the Franklin which was interesting with the cream cheese and ultimately was good but for the amount of time you spend in line I was hoping for something more legendary. TBH, I much prefer the place Great Steak (and potato company).

Waited a long time for the sandwich which had very less meat and it was my first try so didn't know what to expect. The sandwich was small so the meat being less compared to the bread made a lot of difference.

Red flag.. we ordered the chicken sandwich as we don't eat beef due to religious preferences. Well the utensils they used for beef and chicken were same. So if anyone at all cares about all that. Not your place to be. Not to mention the cross contamination.

Front desk lady was good even after handling all those customers. So 3 stars for her.

Cheesesteaks were ok. We waited in line for a bit to get them. Wouldn't personally wait in line again for it. But would grab one again if it was a quick bite. The guy at the till was amazing though. Great service
