I've always been the sort of person who goes to a popular restaurant to both enjoy the cuisine while all the while keeping mental notes on the food so I can attempt to recreate whatever dishes I'd enjoyed in my own kitchen. Well, Ember & Ash changed all that! Their dishes are so unique, so complex, and so delicious that I have totally given way to my home-cooking fantasies and only want to return there again and again to enjoy their gastronomical delights with nothing more on my mind than to delight on their food and witness how each extraordinary dish tastes.

Every single person at Ember & Ash, from Server to Chef, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their unique nightly menu which creates an ambience that is both welcoming as well as informative. Any dish you ask about is explained in great detail letting you know exactly what you are about to experience, how the food is made, from where it comes, and what tastes you are sure to experience. The servings themselves are perfect for sharing and, tonight, we sat and ate for almost two hours, our table never bare with great food arriving all evening.

Ember & Ash is one of the brightest new stars not only on Passyunk but in Greater Philadelphia as well. Don't miss the opportunity to dine there, and soon! You'll be as enthusiastic as we are!

Came to Philly for a short weekend trip and ordered delivery from hotel. I was impressed by how they treat each ingredient with respect and not over seasoning them. I know my restaurants make dishes salty to create a fake delicious feeling, but this place is different. I can taste the flavor from each ingredient. Simple and delicious.

Great new small plates spot in East Passyunk! A lot of candles and low light which creates a romantic ambiance.

Service was amazing. Waitress explained the menu very well and food came out as it was prepared.

Cocktails were delicious and food was tasty. Don't skip the corn donuts!

Will come back for brunch and/or drag brunch every other Sunday.

The space is beautiful, and the fire going in the back is incredibly eye catching. But the food and drink—they are immaculate! Creative and playful and beautiful, yes, but also so very tasty.

I was most impressed with the nonalcoholic cocktail list. They have a Negroni riff that is just stunning. The feel let’s you know there’s no alcohol in it, but the interplay of sweet and bitter and spice made me want to go home and tinker to recreate it immediately!

The staff were very welcoming and gracious, and they were excited to brag on new items or their favorites. Thanks for being there, gang.

I liked the idea of the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Each dish was unique, simple, but full of heart. It stood out of their own and you would be hard pressed to find similar dishes elsewhere. The chicken was a cooked to perfect with an excellent crispy skin, but a little bland. Although if you combine each bite with the pickled lettuce, it was a bombshell. The service was average, edging towards the low end. I was looking forward to the octopus dish I ordered which was clearly forgotten but no amends were made. Overall, promising with room to grow.
