Pera is a refined Turkish restaurant. The staff is actually Turkish and proud of their cuisine. The head chef in the kitchen is also Turkish and knows what he’s doing. The food is delicious and authentic. My mother, who is an excellent Greek home cook, had very high praises for this place. And she hates most restaurants. If that’s not a major compliment, I don’t know what is. Highly recommend!

Fantastic neighborhood BYOB Turkish restaurant. They do not take reservations but thankfully we didn’t have to wait long. While the service was at times slow, Pera made up for it in their food. Amazing flavors, wonderfully authentic, and so many items to pick from. This restaurant is great for family-style sharing.
For three of us, we shared:
Cold mezze combo platter - this includes the humus, spinach tarator, ezme, tabouli, cacik, and babagannoush with sliced pita. Best way to try all the authentic Turkish dips.
Doner - this was a shaved lamb/beef combo with rice and veggies. The lamb was a tad gamey, but overall decent. This wasn’t my favorite but still a good dish.
Manti - imagine a cross between a gnocchi and Asian dumpling. These little pillows are great, but they are a tad doughy (you couldn’t totally tell it was lamb stuffed on the inside). Great for sharing.
Chicken Beyti - best dish of the night. Imagine a sliced, Turkish version of a calzone. Absolutely delicious and great flavors.

Great food and VERY affordable (helps that they’re BYOB). You can make out with tons of food for ~$30/person.

Delicious food in a cool atmosphere. My husband thought highly of the moussaka. It’s not too oily and it’s delicious. The restaurant is BYOB so make sure to bring your own bottle!

Love this new local restaurant! Great date night vibe. BYOB is awesome. The pita and chicken thighs are out of this world. I can’t wait to go back already! The service is awesome too; the staff here is great.

Absolutely amazing in Philadelphia. No one else comes close to this delicious authentic Russian Turkish food all the way from Pera in Sheepshead bay, Brooklyn. You guys just raised the bar. Can't wait to keep coming back
