HANDS DOWN BEST RAMEN IN THE CITY. The pork was melting in my mouth. The tonkatsu broth is yummy. The service is lovely. Just an amazing amazing experience. Will definitely be back again. Haven't had ramen this good since San Francisco. This place is a MUST. And a nice portion size. And the price was very very affordable for 2 people. $36 before tip. With edamame and sparkling flavor soda. Soooo good. Like pop your tongue good. Smoke a cigarette after and I don't even smoke. Just delicious

The ramen has a great taste, really love the chicken broth soup base with fantastic toppings. This ramen offers a top tier service, nice and warm. Every one inside are so friendly. I would definitely recommend you guys to have a try on this. You will fall love inside.

This adorable place off 40th St in University City is a hidden gem. The service was astounding, so attentive, the place was spotless (including the bathrooms!), and most important of all: the delicious food. The green dish attached is something they’re experimenting with—pesto tonkatsu ramen! It was incredible, the flavor was so different but addictive, very fresh and herby. The pork belly is some of the best I’ve ever eaten, the ramen perfectly cooked, the Japanese Hot Pot took my breath away. The broth was sweet and savory, just exceptional. I cannot sing enough amazing praises about this place, it’s so unique and the owners are very kind. Please visit Ramen Umai if you’re in University City! You will not regret it!

Food was soooo good! Really Glad they opened up in town! The soup of the black garlic ramen was especially good. Chashu just melts in your mouth and the chicken kaarage is the best chicken nuggets I’ve had in a long time!
It’s got a nice warm ambience that reminds you of the midnight diner in Japan. Perfect for winter!
Oh and, unbeatable price for SO MUCH FOOD, just Wow.

This cute little ramen shop widely exceeded my expectations! The broth is so rich and complex, and the chasu melts in your mouth, lots of great apps and side dishes as well. Great services and friendly owners that really care about your dining experience.
