Cool atmosphere, clean space, really friendly staff. I would give it 4.7 stars realistically but only because for the price I was disappointed with the size of my sandwich (Santa Monica). It was really delicious, but I wish it were $2 less or just a bit bigger.
I got the Bird is the Word sandwich and it was okay / meh. The eggs were a weird fluffy texture and the pastrami was fine and grilled, but overall was super salt forward. Not my favorite thing for the first meal of the day. The bread was fine but overall I can only stomach about half of the sandwich before I put it back in the bag and called it quits.
Hopefully they’ll have better breakfast sandwiches in the future and more reasonably priced. Total with tax, my sandwich was just under $15. :/ probably won’t be back unless it’s for the biscuit lady.
Also, menu is super hard to read and needs to be redesigned. It’s all text and a lot.
Lucky's strikes again with another hit... this time on a long roll!
Tucked away as part of Luckys Trading Company, Sunshine Sandwich Shop operates for lunch and the weekends. You'll get a meaty sandwich whipped up in no time. By meaty, I mean the sandwich comes out heavy - like get a little workout heavy. I've had one on menu sandwich (the Carmine) and one off menu special. Loved them both and will be back for more.
While most get orders for take out, there is a bit of space to eat in. Service is from the best of Lucky's staff and top notch. I had a slight issue with my order and they quickly took ownership and corrected with a full new sandwich. Crazy good service imo.
Enjoy my new lunch spot as much as I do!
This sandwich spot just opened up in the Wissahickon area of Philadelphia and I finally had the chance to try it.
I ordered the ‘Sweet Jasmine’ and the ‘Love Child’. The ‘Sweet Jasmine’ is basically a caprese sandwich that has pesto. The ingredients tasted fresh but the bread could’ve been better. I wish they were more generous with the ingredients because the sandwich was a lot more bread. It tasted good overall but was nothing special.
The ‘Love Child’ has chicken, bacon, green peppers, onions and provolone. I ordered it without onions but it came with onions so that was disappointing. I thought it could use more flavor overall because the chicken flavor overpowered the other ingredients (or maybe add less chicken but more peppers, bacon, etc).
Overall, I wasn’t blown away and don’t think either was worth $12-$13.
Popped in and had the "Tommy Chong", great pulled pork sandwich on a nice seeded roll. The sandwich had a long hot pesto spread that was the perfect amount of heat for the sandwich.
