Skeeter's Pit BBQ

I save a Skeeter's visit for special treat for myself because it's so delicious. I love the brisket salad with plenty of the house-made dressing and BBQ sauce. I've been coming here for some years and have never had a bad experience. I'm not usually a salad person because I'm more a meat-and-potatoes type of person, but the fresh mixed greens (not just some chopped romaine!) stand up nicely and present a great hot-weather option that's still flavorful and filling. If you're passing through Shamokin Dam, sit on the deck overlooking the Susquehanna River for a pleasant, breezy meal!

Pulled pork is great. Honestly just VERY upsetting that all the serve is ONE BBQ sauce, hot sauce or ketchup. Dont know how a BBQ joint can only serve ONE type of BBQ sauce. That's what ruined it for me, didn't have any other options and the one they have was too much of a strong tomato taste for me. Would love to come back though if they got other options for sauces. And still worth the try. Just because I didn't like the sauce doesn't mean others won't love it.

Beef brisket sandwich with the horseradish sauce is absolutely wonderful. I always have to convince myself to only get one because I could easily eat 2 or 3 they are that good. The view is pretty cool and you may even get lucky and see a bald eagle fly across the river. A must go to place if you are in the Shamokin Dam area or Union county!!

My wife and I had the pulled pork and beef brisket wraps. Both were very good. Both juicy and included a lot of meat. The BBQ sauces were both good but not great. Not a lot of smokey flavor in the meats. But an above average BBQ place. Very friendly service and super clean restaurant. Great location overlooking the Susquehanna River. Rustic camp look and vibe. Fairly new building. I'd stop in again when driving through Selinsgrove. Recommended

Awesome BBQ place! Great food, friendly staff, and beautiful views! Love the interior and general vibe, super comfy, and fast service. Good value too; I've always gotten the ribs and shrimp basket, with their signature chili. Loved coming here as a college kid at SU; will be revisiting as an alum when I can.
