China Castle Restaurant

Found this little Chinese restaurant in Honesdale, Pa and I am so glad we did. I am not one for Chinese buffets so this was good for us. Food was excellent and the service was good. We will be back.

Food arrived tepid. Sw.& Sour Chicken was hard & dry inside fried batter. Lo Mein was soggy. Wonton soup watery. Only 2 other customers when we arrived on Sun.afternoon. Will not go there again.

It's Okay, best value is take out. I know not all recipes are the same but this was not "Chinese" as expected. "fried" rice is not fried. It's white rice with soy sauce, no stir frying. The egg rolls vary in taste every time. Definitely reduced the amount sauce over the years to the point of not nearly enough as the put the meat over the sauce, not vice-versa so the meat has not absorbed and sauce and is dry.

Great little place. Not really busy for dine in so you won't need reservations. Fantastic food with great vegetarian/vegan tofu options. My wife ordered tofu with General Tso sauce on it instead of the orange sauce from the menu and they were very accommodating to the substitution. Never had a bad meal there.
