A Slice of New York

I have been trying to get my hands on this pizza for quite sometime now. Today I finally reach that goal. It was so worth the wait. While we waited for our pie Sean, the owner, came out and talked to my mom who is a Bronx Native. He showed her photos from back home. Places that she knew exactly where they were. She's 80 and hasn't been back home in over 30 years. Now to the main event. We ordered a large pie half plain half pepperoni. The pepperoni curls into little yummy grease filled cups with crispy edges. The sauce, not heavy, was full of flavor from the San Marzano tomatoes he uses. And the cheese pull on the mozzarella was fantastic. The dough was chewy where it needed to be and crispy where you want it. All around this pie was a chefs kiss. I highly recommend you going to checking it out.

Great pizza. Easily one of the best in all of Pittsburgh. Owner cares deeply about quality and service.

Edit: New Location Review!! New oven makes a huge difference. Pizza is crispier and fluffier at the same time. New setup makes a huge difference in the ease of ordering and getting your food. This place is a no brainer easy choice for pizza. A 10/10 rating is an insult to how good this place is.

After hearing about this pizza, I drove over a half hour tonight to try it. I'll be making that drive again! Crust was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Nice and thin with no flop. Sauce had a great flavor. You can tell it was high quality ingredients. It's what I'd expect from a NY pizza. The owner was cool. He knows what he's doing and enjoys doing it. Excellent pie!

Let me preface this by saying I love pizza, probably way too much. I eat from most places and enjoy it enough. But Slice of New York is like having a hug from the perfect slice shop in NYC. Is it a pain sometimes that there are only limited pies? Yes, but so incredibly worth it. Even on an "off" day (and I use that term very, very loosely) it's always miles ahead of anything else.

Best authentic quality pie around! My go to spot for genuine NY style pizza in Pittsburgh!
