The brisket melts in your mouth and has the beautiful smoke ring all the way around. I sampled the mac and cheese and salty taters along with my brisket - they are homemade and delicious. “Gin's is a restaurant that is also a bar. The food is excellent tavern food that often goes beyond. For example fried calamari can come with a peppery cheese sauce that is wonderful. Large square pizza is always 2 for $15. Family atmosphere that loosens as the evenings get older. Music on Fri nights, weekly specials, a friendly wait staff, lots of tables and the bar has that neighborhood feel. Just be careful and aware crossing the road from the parking lot.”

“We came here for a New Year's Eve dinner. The only reason this isn't a 5-star rating is that we had to wait to be seated, in spite or a reservation and an open table that hosted a single couple after we had arrived. The food was really good. Others, who had been there before, said they never had a meal they didn't like. Everyone enjoyed what we ordered. In particular, I enjoyed their onion soup. They make it from a homemade beef broth with beef chunks that end up in the soup. The waitress was also very nice, cheerful, and accommodating. I never felt as if she was distracted thinking about her own plans for the evening. We never felt as though she was hovering, but neither were we looking around for her if we wanted something. On any other night, I might expect this level of service. But, with this being a holiday, I was impressed. It doesn't appear to be a particularly large establishment, but the decor and ambiance were comfortable.”
