The First Post

Great solid spot in york. Beautiful historic building. Servers are also really sweet. Food is good, solid, just nothing to write home about.

First time visit. I had the tuna salad and ice tea. The greens were cold and crisp. The dressing added a nice subtle flavor to everything. Dinning partner had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said the meatloaf was delicious but was more like a sirloin burger. Our waitress was attentive without being overwhelming. Atmosphere was good with heavy decorated wood bar and walls. Prices were adequate for what we had.

I highly recommend First Post! I went there for a late lunch on a Saturday to catch up with friends from college. The atmosphere was lively and the staff was very friendly. Service was great! I had the fish and chips and the the portion was huge. I will definitely return!

Very good place for drinks and good food. Really nice building, heavy
remodel work. So, the place is nice; rich wood, nice flooring, exposed brick, several separate dining rooms offer some privacy from the bar room. Bar room has lots of flat-screens to watch baseball, hockey or golf. The bar-back looks like it's from an old wood & brass turn-of -the-century- lots of dark woods, shelves, pockets, nice ornate details. A good bar to drink from. I give the bar/atmosphere, seating, bar top, rail-- 5 stars. Pricing is fair. Had a Manhattan; light on the sweet vermouth. Friends had good drinks too. Again, pricing is fair. Enjoy.

Love the place. Our group had a private room for a party. There were about 15 of us. The wait staff was excellent at keeping our drinks fresh and getting our orders in a timely fashion. The food came in a good amount of time. It was all delicious with no complaints. Everyone was satisfied. I will come again.
