My boyfriend & I first found this place in January of 2024 when we were in York hospital waiting for our daughter to be born and have been coming here ever since, the food is amazing. The catfish platter is our absolute favorite with the yams & mac and cheese on the side. The breading is so flavorful and crispy on the catfish, the yams are so delicious and the mac and cheese pairs perfect with the yams. We have also had the fried chicken platter which was delicious and the signature wings are absolutely insane. I got the hot garlic parm and he got the honey old bay, we have also had the jerk. The sauces are out of this world, the wings are nice and meaty and crispy. The banana mousse is the perfect way to end your dinner with their absolutely delicious lemonades. The blueberry is my personal favorite, but the mango and strawberry are just as good. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with anything here. Amazing food honestly. We can’t wait to try the oxtail & cheese steaks next time we visit! Will update when we do.

Fantastic food. Horrid service. Called in, picked up, ordered in, ordered door dash- in every scenario the interactions were horrid, the wait times were 30-40 minutes AFTER arrival whether I called in or not. Scheduled my order through door dash hours prior to pick up- same experience! In every instance the entire restaurant was empty. Asked for sauce to dip wings was told “sauce doesn’t come with that order. You can have ranch and blue cheese but it doesn’t really go with whole chicken wings”. No option to buy the sauce cups from you that come with the same exact wings if I order them with fries? I truly hope they figure out their service situation because they have the hard part- a fantastic cook! (The fries are gross and inedible. Don’t risk it.)

I went here being from Maryland where seafood is made incredibly well where I would catch and cook my own catfish and the fried catfish that I had here was delicious and seasoned perfectly, alongside it I got mac and cheese which was super cheesy and creamy. I then also ordered oxtail with rice and beans with fried plantains. my first time ever having fried plantains and because of the pecan tree they are now a food that I will be seeking out because it was so good. the oxtail was rich in flavor and super tender, the spices and browning were to a level that was just perfect. the rice and beans were incredible very well seasoned and when you mix the sauce from the oxtail with it it is a game changer. All in all the food was incredible.

The service was amazing as well we were the only customers in the store and Kevin the owner and I had a conversation about food, football, and college. the place is super well kept and clean. After my meal I still had a little food leftover and Kevin brought me a bag without me having to ask. there is a genuine level of care for the customers and belief in the food here. I cannot wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.

Best soul food in town. Everything from the ox tail, fried chicken, cheese steaks, to the Mac and cheese. This place is on point! We mixed our lemonades (strawberry and blueberry) best idea!

The full size wings were fried perfectly! I was hoping the baked Mac and cheese would have a little more flavor. But it was cooked so well and yummy regardless. You can never go wrong with collard greens. This was a good hardy meal for $16. I got the jerk chicken wings to share too. (no picture) They were packed with flavor and just fell off the bone. Oh! The blueberry lemonade was so sweet but still tart! 😋I was worried about ordering so close to the end of business hours. They did great regardless!! Our unit nurses really appreciated the effort and quality in our meals.
