Blue Plate Diner

Cute old fashioned diner that reminds me of my childhood in New Jersey. So far I’ve only tried the fresh turkey (made fresh every day) with veggies, mashed potatoes (with skins!), gravy and stuffing. Delish! My husband had a hamburger on our second visit. Also delish and perfectly cooked. Nice salad, creamy chunky blue cheese dressing and extra blue cheese on top.
Two small complaints made me give it four stars. The turkey slice on top
of the plate was dried out when they reheated it. And the salad had some leaves that were wilted, not perfectly fresh.
They also have meatloaf and fried chicken and breakfast all day.
Great place for a quiet comfort food dinner when you want to avoid the tourists crowding the streets and restaurants in downtown Newport. We’ll be back for sure.

A bit pricey for what you got the food is not bad but you're expecting a little bit better than that for those prices. We enjoyed ourselves and a table of five of us had a variety of dishes breakfast and dinner that all of us felt was just slightly above-average. The unique milkshakes and desserts do give it some style points. So overall I'd go with four stars.

Overall, a great experience. I ordered the southwest style eggs Benedict and it was a very inspired meal with lots of flavor. This place aims to be a diner with higher quality food and I would certainly say they succeeded. Finally, this place is very popular amongst older folks so its not exactly the trendiest spot if that's what you're interested in.

Fantastic diner! The service and food were great! I highly recommend it for breakfast. We will be going there again for sure!

The wait for our waitress was a few minutes long but overall the food was great. Unfortunately they fry fish in the same oil as other things (chicken, fries, etc) so I couldn’t have anything fried due to my fish allergy

I got the meatloaf sandwich, and it was very good. The food came out quick and hot, and our waitress was very attentive.

The parking lot is kind of tight and was partially flooded but overall I’d say it’s definitely worth a try
