What customer service! I love this place because, at first, it seems like a small door leading into a tiny space, but when you walk in, it's clean and well lit. Plus, you won't get better customer service anywhere else.
I haven't tried to eat here yet, because of a gluten allergy, but after learning that I had a car door allergy, the wonderful staff at Baba's New York System helped me wash up.
I was biking down the street, when a customer so excited to get food from here opened their car door as I biked by their car. Here is where I found out I had a slight car door allergy when I might have collided with it and I fell to the street close to it.
Everyone was okay, but it looked like someone had spilled ketchup on me or something (joke). So, I was brought into Baba's New York System and was helped out by the wonderful staff, while the excited, and concerned, customer got their food!
So, the lesson here, is you're gonna get treated well at New York System on Smith Street, but just be aware to be careful on the streets of RI. Once you get into the store, you're all set.
Great find. I stumbled upon here while visiting Providence from a Google search for 'best milkshake in providence'. Was very pleased. Milkshake was great and the service was fantastic.
The food is, and always has been FANTASTIC! The service is warm, funny and they treat you like family. I don't intend to stop eating there anytime soon!
Food is very good... authentic with decent prices. Neighborhood is not the greatest but it looks like they are fixing up some of the houses. Most people get orders to go that I noticed.
Rhode Island's best wieners! This place is legendary and has been featured on many dining TV shows. Please, do not call them hot dogs. Order a few "all the way..." you will not regret it. I have to say, the new management here has done quite well, and the place is a lot cleaner than it used to be, and also has a more extensive menu for those of you who don't like hot dogs, um, I mean, wieners.
