Skins Hotdogs

Great for a quick bite to eat and good southern hotdogs.

Great down home friendly atmosphere. Great hot dogs any way you want them. Chili dogs as well. Desserts like delicious homemade chocolate pound cake and fresh baked cookies. Wonderful family dine-in restaurant.

Love some skins. Started by a WWII veteran in Anderson.. Simple, Great tasting dogs. Inside you will see a sign that says," the language you use in church is good enough for here." I personally think that sign should be posted very visible in most establishments. When you go in Skin's, you will see signs and pictures and timelines of their history. Pretty neat to see their whole story and it one point how they exclusively signed a deal with Pepsi or signed a deal exclusively with Coca-Cola. In one of his stores maybe in all of them there is a handwritten receipt for some equipment that was purchased. It was simply a handwritten note from one person to another with a promise to pay the amount owed. So go into skins have a great hot dog chips and drink and before you leave take a look at this timeline to see some really neat local history.

The staff are very nice. But the hot dogs taste different. The chili seems water downed. I have always loved Skins. Especially the one on Hudgens Street. But there's taste the same too. Not sure what is going on with the family recipe.

Grew up eating these hotdogs and hope to be eating them when I'm 100. Best and I mean BEST dogs on the planet! Sorry Nathan's. I fix mine up with mustard, ketchup, AND hot sauce. Only way to eat 'em! 2 all the way with chips, drink, and some homemade chocolate cake. The BEST!!!!
