Best barbecue hands down anywhere ever!! We've drove past this place for years watching the crazy lines. Finally stopped by and this place was 1000% worth it! Luckily when we went there wasn't a line, even if it would have been worth it. !! Recommended to any and everyone.
Well worth the wait. The best BBQ I have had in many, many years. All of their sides are very good. The potato salad is on the sweet side so if you want something more savory I recommend the baked beans, coleslaw, or loaded potato casserole. I'm so glad this place is only ten minutes from my apartment. Perhaps the best part is the price (for my go-to order): 1/2 chicken and 1/2 lb brisket for $15.95, that comes with two sides (I usually get cole slaw and baked beans)and a dinner roll. This restaurant is a local favorite and I can't wait to go back this Friday! (pro-tip: mix the original mild and the mustard BBQ sauces together). The price for my go-to used to be $14.95 but they increased their prices after their Anderson location opened. This is fine, but if it increases much more, they will lose some clientele. Don't get me wrong- the restaurant has great food and will continue to be popular, but many of their customers are either college students or families in the area that can't afford much more than $17 for a combo plate at a BBQ joint. Hopefully prices won't increase again in the future.
Awesome BBQ spot near Clemson. Probably the best BBQ in the area. Only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but it's still pretty good. They can handle large parties and small groups. The brisket will always be my favorite thing to get there.
Just like any great well-known restaurant This place came with a healthy dash of patience. My daughter and I were warned when we got there that we would have to withstand the growls of our stomachs for an hour and 15 min. We were first timers so decided to wait. it was Clemson college home game night so a large percentage of the fans of both teams mingled there after the game. The place is as rustic as rustic allows. The wooden floors creaked when those Clemson college waitresses hustled across them serving food. The walls and thick wooden tables were scribed with thousands of signatures of who was there last. Almost like leaving scribbles of namesakes of who someone loved back in high school. The staff was quick friendly and gave you a relaxed feeling. The barbecue food melted in your mouth It was cooked to perfection. The wait was justified.
Wow! We had a 1 hour wait for a table, but it was well worth it! Great BBQ, sides, and sweet tea. Also a great environment. If you have a long wait, just play some corn hole or listen to music, or hang out on the tailgate. I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area! WOW!!!
