Amazing atmosphere, truly Daufuski. Relaxed but also refined. The meal was amazing! We had the Daufuski stuffed shrimp and gumbo with smoked salmon appetizer. Drinks are generous and the team working are very interactive and fun. This place is a gem on the island, thank you for doing what you do!

Bell's on the Beach (sister restaurant of the wildly popular Lucy Bell's Cafe) is a terrific addition to the Daufuskie restaurant scene. The food is terrific, and the staff friendly and eager to help. It is beautifully decorated, and the restaurant's opening-day Easter Brunch was one of the nicest dining experiences I've had in a long time. Dinner a few weeks later was equally nice, with an impressive variety of dishes on the thoughtfully designed menu. Each member of our party had a different dish, and everyone loved what they had ordered. There were reports of slow service the first week of operation, but it seems that those early wrinkles have been ironed out.

Of course, the setting of this restaurant can't be beat, as it is situated on the Melrose beach. The decor has been updated by the current managers, and the overall affect is really lovely. Seating includes a screened-in porch, a more formal dining room, a large porch, and the bar,. Highly recommend.

Our first visit was Easter Brunch, and tonight we went back for dinner. The food in both cases was excellent. Service is good but still improving as they work to add staff. Dinner is reservation only at this time and there are a number of people “helping out” to make things work until more full time staff is added, but this should not be a deterrent for anyone looking for a good meal. Be patient and live on island time for a bit. Tonight was prime rib night and it was very good. Try the crab soup, crab dip and have dessert. The salted caramel gelato was wonderful. All in all this new restaurant is a welcome addition to the island.

We ate at Bells on April 17th. The atmosphere was “beach perfect” and the food was delicious. We had so much fun with James, who was the perfect host. We just loved Damien our server, Summer - who checked on us frequently and Brad’s mom - you are such a sweet and funny lady. My sisters and I will cherish this memory for a long time to come. Thank you!

I went to the grand opening on Easter Sunday with the Hoover family, and the whole experience was amazing! The food was mind blowing! The live music was delightful, and the waitresses and bartenders were polite and responsive. With the weather being beautiful as well, I couldn't have imagined a better Easter Sunday Brunch!
