Hickory Tavern

I'd ordered the lobster roll and was it was delicious! If you haven't tried the lobster roll before, this is a great place to try it out.

I’ve had two experiences here since I’ve moved to the area. Both times Wyatt was my waiter. This young man is absolutely one of the greatest waiters I’ve encountered. The first time I had him. He was very polite and energetic. He made sure I never had an empty cup. The food came out fast. He even took the time to talk to me while handling his other tables. I could see that this young man loved to get to know the people he served. I saw him bend down and talk to the tables children next to me.

The second time I went he was behind the bar and man I can I tell you, this guy is amazing at his job. He remember who I was and asked how I was doing. His customer service was even better then the last. It is hard to find someone who is as polite and respectful in the food service jobs. If you guys ever go to Hickory ask for Wyatt, I can grantee you the best service of your life!! Thank you Wyatt for the amazing service.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Clean and spacious. We brought our dogs and we sat out on the patio, and the staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately, the food was rather mediocre. There is too much salt and did not seem fresh.

We had been in HHI for a week and a half, and pretty much no one on the island had any knowledge of their own menus whatsoever. We went to Hickory Tavern for dinner on our last night in town because it was close to where we were staying and we had 2 young kids to get to bed early. This was hands down the best restaurant experience we had the entire trip. Curtis was one of the best servers we've ever had. He was very attentive, knew the menu up and down, apologized if he felt like he hadn't been to our table enough, kept the drinks filled, and his detailed descriptions of the menu items and suggestions were spot on. They have chicken wings on the menu that come 'charred' as an option. He explained the process in which they cook them and said it was worth the extra few minutes it takes to cook them compared to regular tossed wings. He was definitely right because the wings were great, as well as the rest of the food. We had only been there once before a couple years prior, and the visit wasn't nearly as memorable as this visit, but I don't recall having anything to complain about then either, which is why they are probably still in business in that cutthroat restaurant market. Highly recommend!
