A lot of Tupelo honey vibes, but we were here for it! We were seated at the bar quickly, which landed us with two very kind bartenders taking care of us for dinner
The hush puppies came out a little bit overdone for us, but luckily my family likes things on the toasty side.
The duck hash was fantastic, but on the dinner menu, there is a typo on what sides are included in the meal. I ended up adding on the sweet potato biscuit even though it was a misprint because it sounded interesting. Glad I did! We had leftovers on that meal, and it was just as good the next day.
Both soups were a hit, and so was the catfish with those collards. The wedge salad was a little hard to eat, but the dressing was excellent.
I will be back for brunch! That menu looks even better than dinner.
If you are in the area, you need to go here! Service was friendly and outgoing, and the atmosphere was absolutely delightful. The sticky bun is a must if you want to get a starter at breakfast time! The hand tomato pie was yummy as well! The island gumbo was the best gumbo I have tasted in my entire life. The Korean chicken and waffles are SO good I cant even explain it. I would recommend that dish especially if you like kimchi. If you are looking for a place to go eat on Hilton Head Island, this is the place to spend your money!!!
Fantastic presentation, great menu, great patio. Inside is very on-theme and inviting. Staff was friendly and helpful.
So why 4 stars?
So to me, 3 is par, 3 is expectations met. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't completely impressed. While the staff was friendly service was very slow, seemed understaffed for the shift.
Food looked amazing but tasted somewhat underwhelming. I think a lot of reviews on flavor branch from the fact that people eat with their eyes and the food looks pornographic.
The food tastes balanced but lacks any big flavors other than perhaps salt. Most people at our table were adding sauces to things.
The coffee was fantastic, the pancakes were perfect. It's not anywhere near top of my list on the island but I'd eat here again.
Went for lunch on opening day. I had the Farm Stand Bowl with the tomato vinaigrette on the side. Delicious! I also added grilled salmon. You can add any protein including their veggie patty. My server Marisa was attentive and well versed on the menu. Managers were every where, following up on every detail. They even helped me with the new app, which is now a website link. I look forward to returning to try something else!
