It's everything we hoped it would be.Small quaint off-the-beaten-path, little to no tourists.

Excellent food and service. The fried chicken was the best I’ve had in a long time!

GREAT food, service and music. The people were also GREAT, I plan on definitely coming back. We ordered the ox tails and rice, 3 piece chicken with candied yams, greens, and mac and cheese. The food was soooo tasty it truly felt like my Mom and Aunts cooked the food, Ruby Lee's is the definition of home cooked soul food.

This place is a must-do, if you are in Hilton Head and you like good food and live R&B. Tight quarters, but the atmosphere is so friendly you hardly notice. The owner and staff are warm and welcoming. You must order the gumbo! I discovered this spot while on vacation last year. I plan to vacation in Hilton Head again next year and can't wait to get back to Ruby Lee's.

There is a second, newer Ruby Lee's on the other side of the island. It's larger, but with the same warm atmosphere and great live music. I highly recommend it.

Excellent authentic southern cuisine/soul food. The fried chicken is particularly good... The real thing! Catfish, greens, etc all great. Where else can you sample fried okra? HOWEVER, the main reason to go to Ruby Lees is the live music: R&B, Soul, Blues and Energy. Lively dance floor. The audience sang, danced, and had a ball! We had a marvelous time. Five Stars for music.
