We had a big group of 12 people and had the BEST server!! The food was very good and didn't take long at all. The Hush puppies are amazing and I highly recommend! Very family friendly but very busy.
Our waiter, Pat P, was an absolute blast. He made the dining experience so fun and he was so informative. The hush puppies were wonderful and it is a great place for groups. I would like to see another vegetarian option on the menu besides a salad that had too much dressing, but overall we had a great experience with Pat!
The portions felt a little small. Perhaps this is because I am a bigger guy and I eat more than others, but it felt like they were skimping a little. The crab cakes were very good, but they were small, the hush puppies were delicious, but not too many in the basket. My son referred to them as donut holes, without the icing. Very good, I just wish there were more of them. The she crab soup was very tasty and my wife's tacos and sweet potato fries did not disappoint. Our wait wasn't too long for our food and the service was good. The restrooms could use an update, they felt very "1980s ish" if you will. Clean, just dated. The view of the harbor is one of the best in all of Hilton Head.
We enjoyed the hush puppies. We were seated against a wall opposite side of the room that has views so that took away from the whole experience of trying to dine somewhere with a view. My kids had chicken fingers and fries and barely touched them. I tried to eat their leftovers a day later and understood why they didn't like it. I had a burger, it was OK, not wow. My husband said his fried shrimp were good but the fries weren't very tasty. We were seated quickly at lunch time and our waitress was pretty good. It just wasn't quite what we expected for a $60 lunch.
This place is so fun! This is the quintessential seafood shack. Expect to pay $20+ per entree, but the food is incredibly fresh and well prepared. They allow call-ahead seating, and I highly recommend this for large parties. Our party of 11 was shown a table as soon as we arrived. (On a Saturday night!) The service was courteous and attentive. I can't say enough great things about this place! ????
