Applebee's Grill + Bar

Review them in the middle, because it really just depends on when you go, who's cooking, and what server you get. It's definitely hit or miss! And honestly, a restaurants quality is very much judged on its consistency. This place is just not very consistent.

I usually don't visit Applebees but it was getting late and hadn't eaten. Glad we stopped. This place was actually quite quiet for a change. Service was excellent and the waitress was very attentive. Will visit again.

I used to be a huge fan of Apple Bee's. When I moved from California to South Carolina after college in 2014 I drove and when I stopped for dinner my friend and I ate each night at an Apple Bee's. Since then the restaurant over all has gone down in value. My family owns a lake house in Overton and my mom insisted in eating at this restaurant. The food was OK and the staff OK, but to get more than 3 stars you got to be more than OK. It's not a bad restaurant if Apple Bee's is your thing, but it has room for improvement. Ever since the Franchise sold these Apple Bee's they haven't been the same. I was even going to be a manger at the one that closed down in Summerville, before I received a better job offer from California. I hope it starts heading in the right direction and goes back to being a good 4 star restaurant.

The food was good. Service wasn't too good, our server (at first) was very pleasant and when asking us what my husband and I wanted, she looked us in the eye. As time went on, service went downhill. My empty glass sat on the table for I don't know how long, when I finally got a refill, she slammed the glass down on the table and walked off. When I thanked her, she answered with "Not a problem". Wow, I was really taken aback. She'd come by and ask us how is everything, without looking at us, and walk away. She'd pay more attention to the other tables.

I still left a tip, wasn't much, not like I usually tip. Since she's received a few complaints to the manager, I didn't say anything about the service. I'm a nice person. I can understand it gets busy, however, treat EVERYONE the same, especially looking at you when talking.

The food was delicious, that's the only reason for the 3 stars.
