Hushpuppies Seafood Company

As someone that is not a huge fan of fried seafood joints, this is the nicest, cleanest one I have been to. The staff was friendly and the food was very tasting. All of us ordered the fried flounder (2 Sammie's, 2 baskets) with various sides like Cole slaw, fries, salad, sweet potato fries. I loved the light, crispy, very tasty breading on the fish. The portion size was plenty and everything tasted fresh. I expected everything to have that old fryer oil flavor but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. I commented about this on the staff and was told they change the oil everyday and that today their oil delivery didn't come in. They had to go to the Chef store to buy many bottles of oil for the day. I was glad they did. Hush puppies were good too. I would prefer this place from now on for my fried seafood fix.

My husband and I had dinner at Hushpuppies on a Saturday night. It was a pleasure to walk in with no wait. I had the Hot Honey Shrimp and grits, and it was really tasty. My husband had the shrimp Po-boy, which was is good also.

Located in the old Crust Pizza spot. Unfortunately ,they closed in the bar but it appears they only sell beer and wine so I get it. It's walk up ordering and they bring it to your table. About $20 person for lunch and one was a child. Drinks aren't included. The sweet tea was good. Not sure if the hushpuppies are made in house or ordered. Either way, the food was good. Wasn't overly impressed but I wouldn't count them out just yet without another try for something different. The TJ's grilled cheese tasted almost just like the seafood croquettes. The sweet potato fries and coleslaw were good. The bacon in the street corn was different and worth a try. My daughter had the grilled cheese with french fries.

Great food! I was a little worried that the breading on the food would be too much but it was perfect. My group had the Mommy Shark, the crab grilled cheese, grilled shrimp and the little burger. The Gouda grits & mac n cheese were excellent too. Very friendly staff and very clean dining area!

Quality in product, service, price, and atmosphere is what I received from my lunch time visit to Hushpuppies. The "OG" Pups were perfect with the honey butter. I ordered the Crab Grilled Cheese sandwich and it was unbelievably good. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Price was fair, didn't break the bank account. Highly recommend trying this place.
