Delaney Oyster House

This place is on my top 10 places to dine in Charleston. It’s a fine dining experience but with a laid back vibe. The food, the service, and the music they were playing all came together for a wonderful experience. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all so delicious. My favorites were the fish empanadas, tuna tartare with a plantain chips, Caesar salad, hush puppies, and the oysters of course. If you go ask for Jamie for your server. He was sweet, funny, and kept the plates rolling in at the perfect time.

Passed this place one evening. Couldn't get in, but made a reservation for happy hour the next day. Awesome seats on the top porch. Food was delicious.

Overall: Just on the cusp of greatness, Delaney still delivers a great seafood experience.

The good: We were immediately drawn in by the charm of this place. You feel like you're walking into an upscale pedestrian house, and I mean that in a good way. The service was friendly and the menu is well-varied, with lots of small plates to choose from. The oysters were great as was the ceviche and tartare.

The not-so-good: Prices are high for what you get. I realize it's an upscale experience, but the price wasn't 100% justified by the quality of the food. Primarily, the "blue crab rice" dish was disappointing with tiny bits of crab and overcooked rice, which was supposed to be a signature dish.

Started with a beautiful setting, refined but hip decor. Superb service from Jamie.
Food was amazing. Oysters were luscious. Blue crab ? fried rice crispy and flavorful. Fried chicken to die for. Highly recommend if you are in Charleston!! Went on a Sunday night so not as busy and the vibe was super chill.

I highly recommend coming here! It was right by our hotel so we decided to stop. This restaurant had excellent sanitizing areas and they gave information on how they were keeping it clean! Masks were worn until you sit down as well. Our waiter James was so helpful and knew the menu so well. The food was so fresh and delicious! We had an amazing experience!
