I was born in Charleston, and have been coming here since I was a kid. It’s an oasis in downtown Charleston, and they have the best gazpacho soup. They are famous for their fondue, and their coffee is delicious. I just love this place and it’s a true Charleston historic establishment, a rarity here.
Went here tonight after a long wonderful day. Shrimp Bastille was great; my friend’s Chicken Normandy was fantastic, too. Enjoyed the choice of couscous with our entrees. Reasonable fun French wine selection. David made our evening even more special. Would go here again in a heartbeat.
What a cute place! Very small and very quaint. The food was so delicious! I had garbanzo beans/butternut squash soup and it was amazing. Also the goat cheese panini- yum. We were seated at the back little bar and it was so perfect!
Very tasty and cost effective meal in this cozy little restaurant! The special was a great deal.. $28 for entree, soup or salad and wine. There's so many soups to try..we tried 2 cold soups on a hot day and they were refreshing. The special that day was skirt steak with pate. Only complaint was the steak was a little too tough for me. The pate was delicious..we even ordered more! This is a great place to eat that's different from the typical tourist eateries in the area.. definitely recommend it!
Delightful cafe with intelligent and simple cuisine made with the freshest of ingredients. Limited space and close quarters with your neighbor makes for an intimate patron experience. Portions are enough to be filling, but won't weigh you down, and allows you room for their home made desserts! Each dish was packed with tastes which were easy to identify individual flavor profiles. Recommended!
