Came for the first time 7/6. It was good. All 5 of us enjoyed our food for the most part. Portions are more than enough! The side salad is size of a dinner plate and more than enough for 2 to share. The only downside was it was a little warm inside the restaurant, and I normally freeze in places so it was uncomfortably warm to some of those in our party. And with the sliced roast beef dinner, the roast beef was a little bit sweet which I wasn't expecting and didn't overly care for. My the salad, green beans, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy were all phenomenal. The seafood was enjoyed by those who got that, as was the meatloaf and sirloin tips. All in all, we'll be back the next time we're in the area!
We were traveling and randomly stopped to eat here, WHAT A GREAT FIND!! The service was EXCELLENT, the food was DELICIOUS with huge portions at an unbelievable price, and the atmosphere was nice and homey! My only complaint is that they don’t have one in, or deliver to, Florida where we live! We definitely will be going out of our way to eat here again anytime we’re anywhere close!! Such a wonderful place, so very happy we found it! I wish I could leave 10 stars!!
The food was delicious and as you can tell from the pictures there was plenty of it. The chicken fried steak was crispy but still juicy. The Mac and cheese was to die for. All around good place to sit down and grab a bite. Only reason for not giving five stars is that service was slow even without being packed.
We are traveling from Michigan and a Google search led us here for supper. A small looking place but a tremendous epicurean delight. Wait staff Stacie was such a pleasant person at serving us. We ate off the daily special menu and there was no disappointment. The side twice baked potatoes salad was great. Actually so was the okra, trout, salmon, and I really liked the sun dried tomatoes with the spinach. What a cook this fine place has. I recommend it highly. Thank you to the owner.
This is a gem of a spot. Great hospitality and food. I had the crabcakes and collard greens...lip-smacking delicious. I've been eating collard greens for decades and generally they are savory. These were a tad on the sweet side, but incredibly yummy. Collards are in season and you can taste all of that goodness. The cook as some would say "put his foot in it". Very memorable. I would come back just for the collards. My friend had the pork sandwich and hush puppies. I nabbed a couple of the hush puppies and they were perfect.
